# Emoji Finder > Free, in-browser search over every Unicode emoji (Emoji 17.0, 1,900+ emoji and their skin-tone variants) by name, keyword, :shortcode: or code point. Copy any emoji as the character, a GitHub, Slack or Discord shortcode, an HTML entity, a U+ code point, or a JavaScript, Python or CSS escape. No sign-in, nothing sent to a server. URL: https://emoji-finder.skillsafe.ai/ Price: free. No account needed. Runs entirely client-side. ## Search - Words match emoji names, CLDR keywords and every shortcode: "party", "red heart", "flag japan". - A :shortcode: finds that emoji on any platform: `:+1:`, `:tada:`, `:thumbsup_tone3:` (Discord), `:skin-tone-4:` (Slack). - A code point finds it directly: `U+1F680`, `1f680`, `0x1F680`, `🚀`, `\u{1F680}`. - Paste one or more emoji to identify them, including family, flag, keycap and skin-tone sequences. - Keyboard: `/` focuses search, Enter copies the top result, arrow keys move through the grid, Esc clears. - Browse by category: smileys and emotion, people and body, animals and nature, food and drink, travel and places, activities, objects, symbols, flags. ## Shortcodes - GitHub: the gemoji names GitHub Markdown renders (`:+1:`, `:tada:`). GitHub has no skin-tone codes; the toned emoji is copied as the character. - Slack: Slack's names, with a tone written as a second code, `:+1::skin-tone-2:` (light) to `:+1::skin-tone-6:` (dark). - Discord: Discord's names, with a tone as a suffix, `:thumbsup_tone1:` to `:thumbsup_tone5:`. - Every alias for an emoji is listed in its detail panel, plus its Unicode CLDR short name. ## Copy formats Emoji, GitHub / Slack / Discord shortcode, HTML hex entity (`👍`), HTML decimal entity (`👍`), U+ code points (`U+1F44D U+1F3FB`), JavaScript (`"\u{1F44D}"`), Python (`"\U0001F44D"`), CSS `content` escape, and UTF-8 bytes (`F0 9F 91 8D`). A click on any result copies the format chosen under "Click copies". ## Skin tones, recent and favourites - Pick one of six skin tones once; every emoji that supports tones follows it, in the grid, the codes and the copied text. - The last 24 copied emoji and any favourites are kept on this device (browser storage), not in an account. ## Convert text - `:codes:` to emoji: replaces every known GitHub, Slack or Discord shortcode in a message, including tone codes, and lists any it did not recognise. - Emoji to `:codes:`: rewrites every emoji in a message as GitHub, Slack or Discord shortcodes; emoji with no code on that platform are kept. ## Device support Emoji newer than the device's emoji font are shown faded; they still copy correctly and appear for readers whose devices are up to date. ## Data Names, keywords and GitHub / Slack shortcodes from emojibase-data 18.0.0 (MIT), which follows Unicode CLDR. Discord names from discord-emoji 2.5.3 (MIT).
